A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in:
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Coastal Alabama
~~~~
Coastal Mississippi
~~~~
Coastal Texas
~~~
North Dakota
~~~
Wyoming
~~~
Colorado
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
~~~
And
~~~
Texas
~~~
Our dipsticks are located in DC
~~~
Any Questions? NO? Didn't think So

And so the death spiral begins.

Oil is just one of the commodities that have been rising in price by 1%/month since Bernanke's policy of "quantative easing" began.

Read, quantitative easing = tax on Americans.

That easing is responsible for rampant inflation in foreign countries...like Egypt...Libya...Tunisia...Greece...Ireland...Iceland...Portugal...Spain...Italy...

Do I need to go on?

Ideas have consequences. Ignorance and arrogance on the part of the #2 most powerful man in the world will have a lasting impact...to the tune of millions dead to starvation (China), revolutions, and the next step...war.

When the riots finally reach our shores...perhaps Congress will wake up. See the Denninger post on the officer boards. Good stuff.

Let's just hope that we realize that we will continue to need a military more than entitlement spending...before we actually NEED the military.

J

No one will wake up until the riots are on our shores. We see that in everyday life. "Nothing gets fixed until someone dies" sort of thing.

I will definitely take a look at what you mentioned.

Solution:

http://www.3rdrockenergy.com/truck-car-gasification.html

Good old redneck engineering.

During WWII it is reported that over 500,000 american cars and trucks were powered by downdraft engines.
